AIBIS Board of Directors inaugurated

The AIBIS nine-member Board of Directors was inaugurated on Saturday, 20th September 2025. The Board headed by Prof. Adolf Mbaine, the Vice Chancellor of Divine International University (DIU) in Fort portal will serve for three years. The inauguration ceremony was held at the AIBIS head office in Masodde-Kalagi Town Council in Kyankwanzi District.

The other members of the board are,  Joan Tumusiime a member of Kyakaboga Resettlement Women’s Group from Hoima District, Precious Naturinda a staff member at the African Institute for Culture and Ecology (AFRICE) , Lucy Mbuubi, a  member of Butimba Sustainability Conservation Association (BUSUCA) , Paul Keishari, a Lawyer and Lecturer at Uganda Pentecostal University, Mellon Akatukunda who works with Haki Defenders Foundation,  Bashir Hangi a Communications Specialist at the Uganda Wild Life Authority (UWA), Elizabeth Nabunya, a community member  representing  AIBIS target communities  and Allan Kalangi, the AIBIS Director.  

“As the board, we have great responsibilities on our shoulders to provide oversight and advisory services to grow AIBIS into a giant organisation in the field of biodiversity conservation,” Prof. Mbaine said after all the members had been sworn in.

 All the members of the board pledged their commitment to support and promote AIBIS as much as they could. Suggestions on different policies, programs and partnerships were made for AIBIS management to take into considerations and make necessary follow ups.

The next board meeting was scheduled to take place in December, 2025 to approve some institutional policies and plans for 2026.
